Democrats call for wireless precautions
On December 4, Democrat Senator Lyn Allison called for the Federal Government to implement precautions to protect public health from the radiation emitted by mobile phones and mobile phone antennae.
After drawing attention to a number of precautionary recommendations by the UK’s Stewart Report, she urged the Government to “follow the lead of the UK Government in:
(a) requiring mobile phones to be labelled as a possible health hazard,
(b) actively discouraging their use by children, and
(c) reviewing the “low-impact” legislation that currently allows industry to site masts close to residences, schools and hospitals.”
