A recent paper by Professor Simon Chapman claims that there is no increased rate of brain tumours in Australia that correlates with increased use of mobile phones. Professor Dariusz Leszczynski has two doctorates and a docentship in biochemistry, was Research Professor and Head of the Radiation Biology Laboratory at the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) in Finland and spent 18 years conducting experimental work on electromagnetic fields and health. He was a member of the IARC Working Group that classified radiofrequency radiation a class 2B carcinogen.

In recent years, the incidence of brain tumours in Sweden has increased dramatically, yet this trend is not reflected in the Swedish Cancer Registry, according to the Swedish Radiation Protection Foundation. The Foundation compiled statistics drawn from the Swedish Health Board and cancer registry which showed that the number of people who died from brain tumours ’of unknown origin’ had increased by 157% between 2008 and 2013.

Serbian researchers exposed rats for one day, 7 days or 3 months and observed changes in the volume and nature of pituitary cells, concluding that exposure could be considered a stressor.
