Chronic diseases – the how and why
March 15, 2025
Chronic diseases are on the rise. There’s been such an explosion of them in the last few decades that you may have one yourself or you may know someone who has.
In a report released in February 2025, Richard Lear and Camilla Rees point out the connection between chronic disease and radiofrequency (wireless) radiation.
‘1990 marks the beginning of the current chronic disease health crisis in the U.S. This same year roughly correlates with the beginning of the wireless revolution,’ they say. ‘In a single generation chronic, germless disease had exploded. Thirty-six diseases and chronic conditions all more than doubled.’ These include:
- depression, which has risen by 280%
- diabetes, risen by 305%
- autism, risen by 2094%
- Alzheimer’s Disease, risen by 299%
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, risen by 11,027%
- fibromyalgia, risen by 7,727%
- celiac disease, risen by 1,111%
- leukemia, risen by 588%
- lupus, risen by 787%
- autoimmune disorders, risen by 221%.
Lear and Rees refer to major scientific publications that have found a link between wireless radiation and health problems.
- A 1971 US Navy report found over 2,300 studies connecting wireless radiation with biological impacts, most of them at the frequency range used by our mobile phones and household wireless devices.
- The 2012 BioInitiative Report identified links between wireless radiation and symptoms and diseases, ranging from DNA damage and immune effects to cancer, leukemia, fertility problems and effects on the foetus.
- A review by the International Agency for Research on Cancer classified radiofrequency radiation as a Class 2B (‘possible’) carcinogen.
‘In these three scientific reviews, above, that together cite more than 4,500 studies on wireless risks, hundreds of scientists present evidence that at least 140 diseases and biological effects are directly linked to exposures from low-level radiofrequency or microwave radiation,’ the authors say.
How can wireless radiation cause chronic disease?
Lear and Rees explain that wireless radiation can trigger effects on calcium ions (in cells) that lead to the production of nitric oxide that, in turn, produces peroxynitrite – involved in over 60 chronic diseases. Peroxynitrite has even been described as the “smoking gun” for chronic disease.
Despite the strong links between wireless radiation and chronic disease, authorities have not been paying attention. ‘By ignoring the earlier science, US regulators failed to protect the American people from the dangers of wireless technologies. In doing so, they imposed millions of unnecessary chronic exposure conditions on the American public. By 2015, the 23 diseases the US Navy predicted may have added more than $2 trillion in annual health care costs to the US economy due to their negligence.’
